Cold silver dawn light spills across a frozen expanse near Whitehorse, where heavy overcast skies press low against the horizon. A dense snow squall moves diagonally across the water, transforming the dark surface into a chaotic field of white streaks. The wind sculpts the snow into soft, rolling ridges that obscure the distant treeline. Bare branches of black spruce stand stark against the gray sky, their needles coated in fresh frost. The diagonal movement of the falling snow creates a sharp tension against the stillness of the ice. A faint line of ice cracks near the shore reflects the pale morning glow.
