Double Sun Pillar Over Yukon Storm Plain

Soft overcast light spreads across a vast, storm-bright plain in the Yukon, illuminating a rare atmospheric phenomenon. Two vertical shafts of pale gold light extend upward from the low horizon sun, piercing a perfectly clear sky. The ground below is a textured expanse of frozen snow and frost, its surface uneven and gritty under the diffuse illumination. The light pillars stand rigid and straight, their edges sharp against the pale blue backdrop. No clouds obscure the view, allowing the full height of the columns to remain visible. The horizon line cuts straight across the frame, separating the white earth from the deepening dawn sky. A faint shadow stretches across the snow near the foreground, marking the low angle of the rising sun.
