Rain Shafts Silhouetted Against Blue Hour Turbines in through low marine fog near Jeddah

Rain Shafts Silhouetted Against Blue Hour Turbines

by Pedro Prince

Deep indigo twilight blankets the coastal plain near Jeddah as heavy rain shafts descend from the low marine fog. Three wind turbines stand tall in the distance, their massive blades rendered as stark black silhouettes against the fading sky. Rim light traces the edges of the rotating blades, separating them from the gloom. Ground fog pools thickly in the depressions of the desert floor, obscuring the base of the structures and showing suspended depth. The contrast between the dark, vertical rain curtains and the soft, diffused blue light is sharp and immediate. One droplet rests on the metal surface of a turbine nacelle, catching the faint ambient glow before sliding down the curved casing.
