Ruined Housing Block Under Night Lighthouse Beam

Steady rain falls across the jagged masonry of a roofless workers housing block standing in an empty yard. A sweeping beam of white light cuts through the deep night sky, illuminating the wet, dark stone and the hollow, windowless openings of the structure. The light reveals the texture of crumbling mortar and the slick, reflective surfaces of the rain-slicked ground. Shadows stretch long across the yard, defined by the sharp edge of the beam against the surrounding darkness. The sky above is a heavy, uniform black, punctuated only by the falling rain. The beam ends abruptly on the far wall, leaving the rest of the yard in absolute shadow. One puddle near the base of the wall reflects the sharp, white edge of the light.
