Python Coiled in Fig Tree Over Mirror Water
Warm honeyed light falls through the dense canopy of a sprawling fig tree near Utrecht, illuminating a massive python coiled tightly around a thick branch. The reptile's scales shimmer with wet, emerald and gold patterns, glistening under the steady monsoon rain that falls in fine, visible threads. Below, the ground has transformed into a perfect, mirror-still body of water that reflects the entire tree, the hanging snake, and the darkening sky with absolute clarity. Raindrops create tiny, concentric ripples on this impossible surface, distorting the reflection of the python's head as it rests with patient, predatory stillness. The lower branches dip just inches above the glassy liquid, blurring the boundary between earth and water in the golden hour glow.
