Python in Fig Tree Frozen Time

Deep indigo evening light washes over a reed bed edge near Kano, where a python coils tightly around a gnarled fig branch. The reptile forms a dark, textured silhouette against the fading sky, its scales appearing as smooth, layered armor. Around the coiled body, dozens of fig leaves and dry reed stalks hang suspended in midair, frozen perfectly still as if time has halted. A thin layer of light fog softens the distant horizon, blending the reed bed into the twilight. The frozen debris creates a stark geometric contrast against the organic curves of the snake. One leaf tip near the python's head catches the last glow, glowing with a faint amber edge.
