Oklahoma Brick Ruin Fig Tree Noon Light in in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Brick Ruin Fig Tree Noon Light

by Andre Warren

Flat noon sunlight bleaches the exposed red bricks of a crumbling wall standing in an Oklahoma field. A mature fig tree erupts from the center of the masonry, its roots gripping the fractured mortar. Early winter leaves hang sparse and brown, casting a mosaic of sharp, dappled shadows across the rough brick surface. The wall recedes into layers of depth, revealing weathered stones and gaps where the structure has failed. Dust settles on the dry ground, while the tree's gnarled branches reach upward against a clear, pale sky. One crack runs vertically through the mortar, separating two distinct sections of the decayed foundation.
