Neon Reflections on Wet Djibouti Alley at Dawn

Pale gray light spreads across the wet concrete of a Djibouti back alley beneath elevated train tracks. A distant neon sign casts a fractured streak of electric blue across the puddles, its edges softened by the mist clinging to the air. The rough, dusty texture of the dry-season pavement contrasts with the smooth, dark sheen of standing water. Steel girders of the railway hang overhead, creating deep geometric shadows that stretch along the ground. The sky above the tracks glows with a washed-out gray as the first light arrives. The reflection shimmers slightly, distorting the sign's sharp edges into liquid shapes resting on the ground. A small crack in the concrete runs along the left edge, filled with water that catches the fading blue glow.
