Mesocyclone Over Cotswolds Twilight Sky
by Nova Cuevas
Deep indigo twilight blankets the rolling Cotswold horizon where a towering supercell dominates the sky. A violent mesocyclone rotates visibly at the storm's base, its funnel structure twisting in sharp definition against the darkening air. To the left, the sky retains the soft, pale glow of late spring daylight, while the right side abruptly shifts into a dense field of bright, crisp stars. The storm's underbelly sits in deep shadow, yet a razor-thin rim of light outlines the rotating cloud edges, separating the dark mass from the starry void. Layers of thunderheads stack behind the main cell, receding into the distance with textured, billowing surfaces. The transition between day and night cuts a straight, impossible line across the atmosphere, leaving the green fields below in cool, shadowed silence.
