Star Trails Over Moon Weather Station Ridge
A weather station mast stands rigid on a jagged ridge under a pitch-black sky. Swirling white star trails arc behind the metal structure, creating concentric circles against the void. The ground is covered in sharp, gray regolith and scattered rocks that cast hard, dark shadows with no atmospheric diffusion. Rim light catches the edges of the mast and the ridge crest, separating the silhouette from the darkness. Thin cloud gaps do not appear; instead, the sky is a solid, starless black field. The autumn season is suggested only by the dormant, leafless state of the few scrubby plants clinging to the rock. The lighting creates a stark contrast between the illuminated metal surfaces and the deep, absolute shadows of the terrain. A faint reflection of the star trails glimmers on the smooth, cold face of the station's instrument panel.
