Green Wall Cloud Over Delhi Night Sky
by Linda Pena
A massive, rotating wall cloud dominates the night horizon near Delhi, its base tinted a deep, sickly green against the starlight. The sky above is perfectly clear, revealing scattered stars that offer the only other illumination besides the faint glow rising from the flat ground below. The cloud structure appears dense and turbulent, forming a solid, dark curtain that contrasts sharply with the empty blackness of the upper atmosphere. Sparse vegetation on the surrounding plains is barely visible in the low light, at the base of the storm in the early spring landscape. The base of the cloud hangs low, its textured surface rippling with invisible motion, while the sharp edge of the green tint fades into the darkness of the sky. A faint reflection of the storm's color touches the wet pavement in the immediate foreground.
