Mangrove Channel Fern Floor Havana After Rain

by Tom Abbott

Pale midday light falls through a dense mangrove canopy, illuminating a narrow channel lined with fresh green ferns. Rain-soaked bark glistens where roots rise from the muddy water, while droplets rest on the textured fronds. The forest floor appears dark and damp, against the bright sky visible above. Water reflects the overhead branches, creating a shimmering path that leads deeper into the vegetation. Beside the channel, moss covers the earth, holding the moisture from the recent storm. A wet leaf hangs from a low branch at the edge of the frame, dripping slowly into the still water below.
