Mandrill at Tidal Inlet Dawn Mist

Vivid blue and red skin tones mark the face of a mandrill standing beside a quiet tidal inlet. Late summer mist hangs low, softening the edges of the water and the muddy bank. Pale dawn light diffuses through the haze, casting no sharp shadows but illuminating the texture of the animal's fur and the damp ground. Dust particles float just above the surface, catching the faint glow of the rising sun. The subject occupies the right third of the frame, facing left toward the water. Fine details in the wet mud near the mandrill's feet show the receding tide line. The scene remains still, anchored by the specific colors of the face against the gray water.
