Mammatus Clouds Over Winter Antalya Fog
Spherical, pouch-like mammatus clouds hang beneath a darkened sky, their rounded forms creating a dramatic, textured ceiling over the Mediterranean coast. Thick marine fog blankets the lower horizon, softening the distant shoreline near Antalya while bright midmorning sunlight pierces through gaps in the upper clouds. The winter light casts a cool, pale glow against the deep gray undersides of the cloud pouches, highlighting their bulbous shapes. Below the fog line, hints of dark green cypress trees and coastal vegetation emerge intermittently. The composition places the cloud formation in the upper third, leaving the misty sea and land in the lower sections. A sharp contrast exists between the smooth, pale fog and the rough, cellular structure of the hanging clouds. The edge of the largest cloud pouch catches a sliver of intense white light against the shadowed interior.
