Madagascar Floodgate Levee Sandbags Plywood Mist

Thick white mist rests on the concrete curves of a massive floodgate structure positioned beneath a winding overpass interchange. Stacks of weathered plywood sheets lean against the gray metal barriers, their surfaces showing peeling paint and water stains. Piles of burlap sandbags form rough, uneven mounds at the base of the gate, their coarse texture against the smooth, wet concrete. The late morning light struggles through the low-hanging fog, casting soft, diffused shadows that flatten the depth of the scene. Rust streaks run down the steel framework, while the mist blurs the distant road ramps into a hazy gray backdrop. One bolt head on the gate mechanism reflects a dull, gray highlight against the damp metal.
