Silhouetted Transmission Corridor Along Botswana Levee

by Felix Acevedo

Steel lattice towers stand in stark black silhouette against a dimming twilight sky along a raised earthen levee. Heavy rain falls in visible diagonal streaks, catching the faint ambient light to create a textured curtain across the frame. The ground below the levee is a dark, churning expanse of floodwater reflecting the gray sky. The metal structure of the corridor is defined by sharp geometric lines, its bolts and crossbeams visible as dark shapes against the fading horizon. The cool season air hangs still in the water, while the rain creates a rhythmic visual pattern over the industrial steel. The edge of the levee cuts a hard diagonal line separating the dry path from the rising water below. One rusted bolt head catches a faint glint of the last light.
