Construction Hoist Bundles on Muddy Road in Gambia

Mud rests on the lower edge of a steel construction hoist landing, its gray surface scarred by wet tire tracks and scattered debris. Bundles of material sit stacked on the platform, wrapped in white tape that bears the grit of the dry season. Green leaves overhead filter the harsh noon sun into shifting patches of light and shadow across the metal grating. Low-hanging clouds press down, casting a flat, diffuse glow that softens the harshness of the midday glare. The ground below churns into a thick brown slurry where the hoist meets the access road. Dark stains mark the steel beams, showing the weight of recent rains. A strip of red warning tape hangs loosely from a corner, frayed at the end. The texture of the mud contrasts sharply with the cold, rigid lines of the industrial structure.
