Limestone Karst Tower Rises Through Morning Mist
by Dylan Pugh
Deep shadow swallows the base of a towering limestone karst, while a sharp rim of pale morning light defines its jagged upper edge. Thin, white mist rests on the layered foothills below, drifting across the valley floor in soft, horizontal bands. The wind whips through the foreground grasses, bending them into uniform, dark green streaks against the stone. Late summer heat is absent; instead, cool air settles in the hollows, turning the distant ridges into a series of fading blue-gray silhouettes. The texture of the rock face appears rough and weathered, against the smooth, ethereal flow of the fog. One patch of dry, golden grass rests on a rocky ledge in the immediate foreground, catching the faintest hint of dawn. The layers of depth recede steadily, creating a vast sense of geologic scale.
