Spring Fog Drifts Over Ancient Cemetery at Dawn

Pale morning light spills across a storm-bright plain near Kayseri, illuminating layers of mist that pool among weathered headstones. The ground fog rises in soft, white ribbons, clinging to the low curves of the stones and filling the spaces between them. Early spring grass, still dull and brownish-green, pushes through the damp earth where the fog settles thickest. The headstones, carved from local stone, stand in rows that recede into the hazy distance, their surfaces rough and textured by time.
