Lighthouse Sweep Over Tanzanian Kelp Forest

by Micheal Soto

Deep indigo water fills the frame, its surface disturbed only by slow, glassy ripples that stretch toward the horizon. A sharp beam of white light cuts across the dark expanse, illuminating the swaying fronds of a kelp forest canopy below. The sunlight patterns dance in rhythmic bands across the brown and green blades, highlighting their translucent edges against the cold, clear depths. The water remains exceptionally transparent, revealing the complex structure of the reef edge beneath the swaying vegetation. The light beam fades into the distance, leaving the surrounding sea in shadow. One ripple catches the edge of the light, turning a dark green frond into a glowing ribbon of amber.
