Komodo Dragon at Winter Sunrise on Japanese Beach

Low golden light strikes the horizon haze, illuminating a massive Komodo dragon traversing a pebble-strewn beach under a sky heavy with low-hanging winter clouds. The reptile's armored, grey-green scales catch the first rays of dawn, against the pale, damp sand and scattered driftwood along the shoreline. Bare, skeletal branches of coastal vegetation frame the left side, while the tide line recedes in the background. The animal moves with deliberate, muscular steps, its tail dragging slightly across the ground, head raised in alert tension. Shadows stretch long and sharp across the wet stones, showing the cold, still air of the season. at the edge is the rough texture of a jagged rock in the immediate foreground, wet with sea spray.
