Komodo Dragon on Winter Catalan Beach

Olive-green scales with rough, knobby textures cover the massive body of a Komodo dragon resting on wet, grey sand. The reptile lies low against the ground, its tail curling slightly behind it. Behind the animal, the Mediterranean coastline stretches into a hazy distance, framed by the soft, diffused light of an early afternoon winter day. The sky above is a flawless, pale blue, completely clear of clouds. Puddles on the sand reflect the bright sky, glistening where the recent rain has settled. The shallow depth of field blurs the background vegetation into soft greens and browns, keeping the focus entirely on the sharp, scaly skin of the dragon and the wet, granular texture of the beach beneath its claws. A small ripple in a puddle near the dragon's snout breaks the stillness.
