Kano Mosque Shrine Mirrors Candlelight Twilight
Indigo twilight falls through high windows into the Kano mosque prayer hall, painting deep blue shadows across the stone floor. A Sufi shrine stands centered, draped in faded crimson and ochre cloth that hangs in heavy, textured folds beside the structure. Dozens of small, rectangular mirrors attach to the shrine's frame, catching the warm, flickering glow of beeswax candles placed on the low wooden altar. The candlelight reflects on the polished glass surfaces, against the cool, fading sky light entering from the side. Raindrops streak the exterior of the windows, blurring the dark horizon outside. The air remains still, marked only by the soft, rhythmic sway of the hanging fabrics. A final beam of indigo light cuts across the foreground, illuminating a single dust mote hovering above the prayer rug.
