Intense tropical light pours through a high skylight, illuminating a massive gate of thick oak planks reinforced with heavy iron studs. Raindrops streak the air, catching the late afternoon sun as they fall against the dark wood grain. The low angle emphasizes the towering height of the doors, which appear to stretch endlessly upward toward the open sky. Wet surfaces glisten under the bright illumination, highlighting the rough texture of the timber and the cold sheen of the metal hardware. Vast solitude rests on the stone walls flanking the entrance, their weathered surfaces absorbing moisture from the light drizzle. A small puddle collects at the threshold, reflecting the vertical lines of the iron studs.
