Pale morning light slices across the ribbed concrete walls of a spacious lobby in Moda, Istanbul, illuminating the texture of the gray surfaces. Centered in the wide panoramic view stands a massive gate of dark oak, its heavy doors reinforced with rows of rust-colored iron studs. The sidelight grazes the wood grain and the rough concrete ribs, casting sharp, elongated shadows that stretch toward the floor. The clear early winter air rests against the solid mass of the door, while the stark contrast between the ancient timber and the industrial concrete creates a striking visual tension. One shadow from the top hinge falls across the polished floor.
