Golden Twilight Sky Filled With Giant Lanterns
Deep golden twilight washes a Kansas plain in warm amber light. The storm-bright sky transforms into a ceiling of mammatus clouds, but these bulbous formations are not merely water vapor. Suspended within the cloud pockets are hundreds of oversized, glowing lanterns, their surfaces textured like paper and fabric. Below, dry grasses and scattered leaves skitter across the flat earth in sudden gusts. A distant town glows on the horizon, its artificial lights competing with the soft radiance of the floating orbs. The scale is immense, with the lanterns appearing as large as houses, hanging in layered rows that recede into the darkening distance. Shadows stretch long across the field, cast by the lanterns themselves, creating a grid of light and dark on the ground. at the edge is a single leaf caught mid-air, illuminated from below by the nearest lantern's soft pulse.
