Gold Aspen Grove in Winter Mist Evening

Steel-blue ambient light washes over a wide New Jersey landscape where a grove of aspen trees stands in stark contrast against the fading day. Their trunks, pale and slender, rise vertically through a thick, white mist that softens the ground cover. Patches of dried, golden grass rest on the slopes, catching the last remnants of sunlight and glowing warmly against the cool air. The mist layers the scene, obscuring the distant tree line while keeping the foreground aspens sharp and distinct. No leaves remain on the branches, leaving only bare, delicate twigs that pierce the fog. The ground appears damp and textured with frost-kissed vegetation. One shadow stretches long across the golden grass near the base of the nearest trunk.
