Golden Aspen Trunks in Autumn Drizzle

Pale bark of quaking aspens rises vertically, their white surfaces marked with dark horizontal lenticels and subtle scarring. Golden leaves cluster densely on thin branches, each one glistening with tiny raindrops from the light drizzle. The overcast sky diffuses the morning light, creating soft shadows that do not extend far. Moisture beads on the smooth bark and drips slowly from the leaf edges. The ground beneath is covered in fallen gold foliage, matted slightly by the damp air. The trunks stand close together, their forms blurring slightly into the gray background of the cool pre-dawn mist. One droplet hangs suspended on the tip of a lower branch, reflecting the dull gray sky above.
