Thick white mist clings to terraced hillsides near Nara as the first light of dawn breaks. A narrow logging road cuts a sharp, dark line across the forest floor, disappearing into the fog. Deep shadows dominate the lower slopes, while a thin rim of pale gold light traces the upper ridges where the mist thins. The scene reveals layers of depth, with the road winding through dense early spring vegetation that appears as a soft, gray-green texture under the low light. The curvature of the terraced land creates a rhythmic pattern against the heavy, obscuring fog. A final sliver of sunlight catches the wet asphalt edge, separating the dark road from the pale, shifting cloud cover above.
