Glass Blowing Demonstration in Sangli Shrine
Bright afternoon light floods the interior of a shrine in Sangli, illuminating a glass-blowing demonstration where a craftsman manipulates molten material on a long rod. The space is lined with rows of paper lanterns that hang from the ceiling, their warm hues against the cool daylight pouring through high openings. The craftsman stands at a workbench, his posture focused as he rotates the glowing orange glass. In the wet season, the air outside appears clear, allowing sharp shadows to fall across the stone floor. Rows of lanterns create a rhythmic pattern along the walls, framing the artisan in the foreground. The glass glows intensely against the muted tones of the shrine's architecture. A reflection of the flame dances on the polished surface of a nearby metal tool.
