Venetian Glass Blowing Demonstration in Sucre Hall
Golden sunset light streams through tall arched windows, casting the glassblower into a sharp silhouette against the bright exterior. The worker stands before a furnace, arms extended as they manipulate a glowing orange rod of molten glass. Through a rectangular architectural opening in the foreground, the figure appears framed against the intense heat and fire. Outside, the wet season clouds gather low over the Bolivian Andes, their gray edges against the fiery orange glow. Dust motes float in the sunbeams, catching the light near the furnace. The rough stone walls of the ceremonial hall surround the activity, at the base of the delicate craft in a sturdy, historic structure. A final shadow stretches across the cool floor tiles, marking the end of the day.
