Warm Lamp on Viaduct Parapet in Rift Valley Rain

Concrete parapets stretch along the bridge walkway under a grey, overcast sky where fine rain mist hangs in the air. One orange maintenance lamp mounted on the railing casts a concentrated pool of warm light against the cool, wet grey stone. The surface of the concrete glistens with water droplets, reflecting the harsh midmorning brightness that falls through the clouds. Dark green vegetation rests on the steep slopes visible below the structure, against the industrial geometry of the walkway. Water beads roll slowly down the vertical face of the railing, caught in the glow of the artificial bulb while the surrounding masonry remains in deep, shadowed grey tones. The wet metal of the lamp housing gleams against the matte, rain-soaked concrete.
