Honeyed evening light pierces through the damp air, turning a fire salamander into a sharp black silhouette against a glowing backdrop. The amphibian rests motionless on a moss-slicked log, its yellow spots visible only as faint interruptions in the dark outline where the light catches the wet skin. Water droplets rest on the rough bark, catching the low sun and scattering sparks of gold. The background dissolves into a soft, out-of-focus wash of muted greens and browns, isolating the creature in a moment of patient stillness. The shallow depth of field blurs the forest floor behind, leaving the focus entirely on the sleek, wet curve of the salamander's body against the humid, rain-soaked timber.
