Low sun breaks through the horizon haze, casting a pale gold glow across the concrete surface of a dam observation deck in Victoria. The space stands empty, devoid of people, under the steady rotation of amber warning beacons mounted on sturdy metal posts. Low-hanging clouds press against the sky, softening the light into a diffuse, early autumn morning. The massive scale of the hydroelectric intake looms in the background, its industrial geometry defined by straight lines and heavy masonry. Leading lines formed by the guardrails and deck edges draw toward the distant water intake structure. The amber lights reflect faintly on the damp, grey concrete, while the metal railings show a cool, weathered texture against the soft, muted tones of the seasonal fog.
