Late Afternoon Light in Hydroelectric Turbine Hall

Dust motes float in the golden late afternoon light filtering through high factory skylights, illuminating the massive steel turbine hall near Mohali. Polished metal surfaces of the generator housing reflect sharp, small highlights against the dull gray concrete floor. Heavy rivets and hydraulic pipes run in parallel lines, creating strong leading paths that guide the gaze toward the deep interior. The dry season air hangs thick with fine particulate matter, settling on the industrial machinery and casting soft shadows in the corners. Rust stains mark the lower edges of the support beams, while the smooth, dark casing of the turbine gleams where the dust has not yet settled. One gear rests on a maintenance platform in the foreground, its teeth sharp against the diffuse glow.
