Predawn Cloudburst Over Desert Canyon Near Riyadh
Cold moonlight washes the jagged sandstone walls of a deep canyon in shades of slate and charcoal. Above, dense cloud bands churn violently, their undersides illuminated by faint, electric flashes that cut through the predawn darkness. A wall of rain descends in a solid column, striking the dry wash below where the first surge of muddy water begins to ripple across the flat basin. Strong wind whips loose dust and debris into swirling trails along the canyon floor, blurring the texture of the eroded rock faces. The scene is alive with the sudden movement of the storm, contrasting the still, heavy stone against the chaotic, rushing water gathering in the lowest points of the gorge. A thin streak of lightning traces a jagged path along the canyon rim.
