Dead Sea Salt Ponds Reflecting Dramatic Sky

Pale white geometric causeways slice through shallow turquoise salt ponds under a heavy sky of bruised purple and charcoal clouds. The water acts as a perfect mirror, doubling the weight of the clouds and casting a cool, diffuse glow across the crystalline surfaces. Sharp, linear embankments create a rigid grid that contrasts with the soft, billowing formations above. The early summer light is low and flat, eliminating deep shadows and showing the vast, flat expanse of the evaporation basins. Tiny ripples disturb the reflection only at the edges where the wind touches the water, while the center remains glass-smooth. One dark line of a causeway cuts diagonally across the lower right corner, at the base of the endless reflection in the earth.
