Dawn Breaking Over Ridge Through Marine Fog Georgia

Pale gold light spills over the sharp crest of a coastal ridge, piercing the thick, low-hanging marine fog that rests on the valley below. The scene exists in deep shadow, with only the highest edges of the terrain catching a thin, bright rim of morning sun. Midsummer green vegetation presses against the mist, its leaves heavy and dark where the light fails to reach. Low clouds drift across the frame, their undersides gray and dense, creating a soft ceiling that obscures the horizon. The light cuts diagonally across the composition, highlighting the rough texture of dry grasses on the slope while leaving the lower ground in cool, blue-gray obscurity. One blade of bentgrass catches the rim light, glowing faintly against the dark earth.
