Chameleon Tongue Strike Riverbank Rio

Copper-toned light washes the humid riverbank near Rio de Janeiro, illuminating a chameleon perched on a wet, moss-slicked branch. Raindrops rest on the textured green skin of the reptile, glistening against the darkening foliage. Its eye swivels with rigid focus, tracking a cricket hovering just inches away. The chameleon's tongue erupts in a sudden, pale blur, extending rapidly toward the insect with surgical precision. Behind them, the river reflects the fading firelight warmth of the sky, while damp earth and scattered tropical leaves anchor the scene in the rainy season. at the edge shows the tip of the tongue making contact with the cricket's leg, a frozen moment of kinetic energy.
