Catamaran Cruising Blue Water Under Noon Sun

Bright midsummer light floods the surface of a highland lake in Lesotho, turning the water into a sheet of deep, clear blue. A white catamaran slices through the center, its twin hulls creating sharp, white wakes that stretch backward in perfect geometric lines. The sky above is a pale, washed-out blue, offering no softness to the harsh noon glare. Dry grass on the distant shore skitters across the ground in sudden gusts, while loose leaves dance in the wind near the water's edge. The boat's deck appears dry and solid against the churning water, and the reflection of the hulls fractures into tiny, glittering shards. One wooden cleat on the bow holds a frayed rope.
