Heeled Sailboat on Suriname Causeway in Late Afternoon
Hard coastal glare slices across a wind-open causeway in Suriname, illuminating a sailboat heeled sharply to one side. Thick mist hangs low over the water, softening the distant horizon while the boat's hull reflects the intense afternoon light. Converging lines of the causeway draw toward a vanishing point where the vessel cuts through the haze. The sails strain against the gust, their fabric taut and bright against the muted gray of the mist. Water churns around the hull, creating white foam that contrasts with the deep blue of the sea. The turn of seasons is visible in the sparse vegetation lining the causeway, with dry grasses bending in the wind. One wave crashes against the side of the boat, its spray catching the sunlight.
