Bronze Bell Polished in Bhaktapur Turbine Hall

Dust motes hang suspended in shafts of late morning light piercing the high ceiling of a turbine hall near Bhaktapur. A massive, freshly cast bronze bell dominates the low-angle view, its curved surface reflecting the industrial haze that lingers just above the concrete floor. Workers in dark clothing polish the metal, their movements creating a rhythmic sheen on the bell's heavy body. The space is defined by heavy steel beams and the raw texture of unfinished masonry. Golden reflections from the bell mix with the gray metallic haze floating in the air. A fine layer of copper dust settles on the rough floor near the bell's base, marking the boundary between the machine and the metal.
