Boat Builder Shaping Hull in Maseru Lantern Shrine

Deep indigo twilight fills the shrine in Maseru while rows of paper lanterns hang from the rafters, casting warm orange pools of light. A boat builder leans over a curved wooden hull, hands pressing a chisel against the grain. Reflected light from a wet floor ripples across the polished wood, highlighting the texture of the shavings piled nearby. Sawdust coats the builder's dark trousers and rests on the workbench edge. Shadows stretch long across the stone floor where water droplets sit in shallow puddles. A fresh shaving curls from the chisel tip, catching the glow before falling into the damp air beside the hull.
