Cool, pre-sunrise light falls through a high window, casting a pale blue wash across a rough wooden table in a Gagnoa rehearsal room. A baker stands at the edge of the frame, hands dusted with flour, pressing a razor blade into a mound of pale dough. The dry season air leaves the room's surfaces stark and matte. Muted reflections of the baker's silhouette stretch across the polished concrete floor, distorted by the low angle of the morning light. Flour dust hangs suspended in the blue beam, settling on the dough's scored surface. The baker's posture remains still, focused on the precise cut that will open the bread later. One line of flour dust marks the edge of the wooden board.
