Baker Removes Bread from Clay Oven in Kayseri

Cool indigo twilight fills the kitchen in Kayseri, casting long shadows along the rough plaster walls. A baker stands at eye level, arms extended to guide a large, round loaf of bread from the glowing opening of a traditional clay oven. Orange firelight inside the oven contrasts with the blue ambient light, highlighting flour dust suspended near the opening and the texture of the baker's worn apron. Stacks of woven baskets and sacks line the background, resting on wooden crates that show signs of heavy use. Steam rises visibly from the bread, curling upward into the cool air.
