Winter Sunlight on Ethiopian Dam Flyover Deck

Heavy overcast skies hang low over a concrete flyover deck running parallel to a massive dam spillway in Ethiopia. The cool season air leaves the gray stone surfaces damp, reflecting the diffused midday light that cuts across the structure in soft, uneven patches. Rust-streaked maintenance rails line the walkway edge, their orange-brown texture contrasting sharply with the wet, slate-gray concrete. In the wide panoramic view, the engineering scale dominates the landscape, with the spillway gates visible in the distance beneath the cloud layer. Water droplets rest on the metal railings, catching the faint light before sliding down into the shadows below. at the edge is a single rivet on the railing head, glistening with a bead of moisture against the matte metal.
