Winter Blue Hour Hot Spring Shoreline
Cool blue twilight washes over a rugged North Carolina shoreline where a hot spring bubbles vigorously against the cold winter air. Steam rises in thick, white plumes from the warm water, immediately meeting the damp chill of a light drizzle that mists the surface. Above, a canopy of stars pierces the deepening indigo sky, their points of light reflected faintly on the wet, dark sand and the rippling water. The shoreline curves gently, showing the wave-cut texture of the coast. Tiny droplets rest on the edges of the steam, blurring the boundary between the rising heat and the frozen atmosphere. One stone rests half-submerged near the steam's edge, glistening with moisture.
