Steaming Pipe Snow Sun Split Suriname in beneath transmission towers in Suriname

Steaming Pipe Snow Sun Split Suriname

by Omar Li

Blue hour light deepens the sky above a massive district heating elbow where white steam rises against frost-covered fencing. The ground splits sharply down the center. On the left, heavy snowflakes fall across wet concrete and rusted metal under a bright sun that casts hard shadows. On the right, clear monsoon clouds hang low over the same pipe, while distant town lights glow on the horizon. Transmission towers loom overhead, their steel legs anchoring the scene. The steam curls differently on each side, dense and gray on the sunny half, thin and drifting on the snowy half. Frost rests on the fence wires on the left, while condensation beads on the right. A final rivulet of water runs from the pipe joint, reflecting the dual sky above.
