Copper-toned light spills across a wind-scoured research platform near Nagoya, illuminating a row of heavy rubber waders and specimen buckets suspended from metal racks. Dark rubber surfaces gleam where moisture remains, against the matte texture of dried plastic. Dramatic clouds stack in the sky above, their undersides glowing orange against the cooling blue. The equipment hangs with deliberate spacing, creating a rhythmic pattern against the vast negative space of the horizon. One bucket rests slightly lower than the others, its rim catching the final golden ray. A shadow falls across the metal floor beneath the lowest rack.
