Drying Rain Gear on Weather Station Porch at Blue Hour

Dark indigo twilight fills the narrow wooden porch of a high-altitude field station near Quito. Thick rubberized rain jackets and translucent insect nets hang in heavy clusters from a weathered wire line, their surfaces reflecting the soft, cooling light. Below, metallic instrument housings glow with faint internal warmth, contrasting against the deepening blue sky. Dramatic, layered clouds roll overhead, their edges sharp against the fading horizon. The wood of the railing shows deep grain and moisture, while the hanging gear casts long, still shadows across the floorboards. one drop of condensation rests on the edge of a plastic netting frame, poised but unmoving.
